Air
Ride Technologies has 2 air suspension systems for the 79-04 Mustangs...
the CoolRide™ and the AirStrut™/ShockWave™.
The CoolRide™ is an airspring and bracket system
that uses a separate shock absorber. It offers a significant improvement
in ride quality and handling compared to the oem suspension... and a
killer stance! The CoolRide™ ride height is approximately
2" lower than stock... the total deflated drop is approximately
5". For the ultimate in overall performance, the AirStrut™ and ShockWave™ system is the no-compromise suspension for your Mustang. The AirStrut™ is a patented airspring & strut combination that is a direct bolt-in replacement for the oem MacPherson strut. The shock valving is adjustable from "full soft" for street cruising to "full firm" for on-track action. Another feature is the slotted attachment hole in the lower strut mount to allow camber alignment at the spindle instead of being forced to purchase an expensive "caster-camber" plate. The AirStrut™ system is also compatible with aftermarket tubular K frames and tubular control arms. On the rear, the ShockWave™ uses the same patented sealing technology and adjustable valving as the front AirStrut™. It is a bolt-in replacement for the oem rear shock and is completely compatible with aftermarket tubular rear control arms. The ride height of the AirStrut™/ ShockWave™ system is approximately 2" lower than stock...the total deflated drop is approximately 5". All this means you can now bolt-on state-of-the-art air suspension in your garage in a few hours...no welding, no fabrication, no hassle! |
